Feeling Great!

You might be interested in wondering why Naomi is throwing her arms up in joy, no not because it is Australia Day. This day marked the last day of a 2 week cleanse John and Naomi went through. Following the Lean And Clean eating plan for 2 weeks by James Duigan. (Elle McPherson's trainer and food coach) After coming back from our 10 day break, we weren't feeling as energised as usual. We were eating sweets every day. You wouldn't think it would make a difference as we only had 1 drink alcohol over this time. However If the body is tired and over worked either mentally, physically or emotionally it is fatigued and not functioning at its optimum. Refined foods can slow digestion down and make everything sluggish. Over the years we have detoxed and have been through different fasts, juicing and cleanses to purify the body, mind and for increased energy, wellness and vitality. We love to see how the body responds to eliminating refined sugars, caffeine. Well that all had to go even from the 1 a day the chai I was having with some honey, yes all sugars even fruit. You see our body was made to be lean and clean so eliminating all complex carbohydrates and sugars of all sorts our body naturally will feel cleaner and lighter. You will get your sweetness from all the dark leafy greens. Doesn't sound so crash hot does it? But what I noticed is that once you have made the decision that you want to feel better you will be committed. I noticed my will power increase ten fold. It does strengthen the disciple factor, as you naturally want to see it through.
So now a week later, I haven't had bread, or rice and even better , have not wanted to eat sweet things. James recommended to have a naughty dessert once a week. So of course we went with that. Chocolate gelato and mouse hit the spot. We so appreciated James's approach. Busting my sugar craving after dinner has gone, amazing! However it does make sense to increase my protein intake with every meal and eat omega 3 essential fatty acids daily, 3000 mg or 5ml of liquid helps curb cravings and gets rid of a bloated belly. It increases your metabolism so you'll loose fluid and excess weight. If your digestion isn't working properly it's harder to burn fat. James says any one can have a flat tummy at any age. Just tweaking your diet and exercise can give you fast results. Yes it is a commitment. But it's so worth it. If your health isn't one of your top priorities, consider making some changes this new year. Live life with bursting radiance, vitality and joy.
